If you haven’t ever heard of or seen a TED talk, I beg you, go to their website. It is an annual conference of thinkers, leaders, and all around do-ers that come together to inspire one another. They post their talks online for the world to see, and the result is a miraculous body of work available for free to the web “public.”
This morning, TED posted a short video of filmmaker David Hoffman, who spoke about a recent fire that literally wiped out his life’s work and all his possessions. The talk is just over 4 minutes, and the outlook this man has in light of such a devastating situation is remarkable.
A notable quote, and one we’ve heard many times before, is “film just burns.” We cannot prevent disasters from happening, but we can prepare for them. Please, protect your memories.
